Makai Senki Disgaea 1

A person walks trough a desert and finally reaches some kind of cemetary.  It’s the apprentice angel Flonne, who has come to the demon world to destroy the demon King.  When she enters the cemetary-building she falls trough the floor and discovers a koffin with the king’s emblem on it.  So she uses all means she has to destroy it.  The one sleeping in the koffin isn’t the king though, but his son prince Laharl, who wakes up.  Laharl is pretty annoyed with Flonne -_-" They find a paper that says that the king died 2 years ago: he choked in a dango.  Then some demons attack Laharl, but he’s to weak to fight back.  He gets some help from captain Gordon and his team who happen to arrive.  When he sees the breasts of the captain’s assistant he gets weak though ^_^" The captain has his robot give Laharl a medical check-up and it appears that he’s been poisoned.  So Flonne heals him with her magic.  When Captain Gordon hears that Flonne’s and angel and Laharl a demon, he wants to rescue Flonne and destroy Laharl, but Laharl has got all of his power back and sends them flying ^_^ Flonne notices she’s lost her pendant.  Without it, she can’t stay in the demon world much longer.  She asks Laharl to help her search for it, but he only wants to help her if she pays him and Flonne hasn’t got any money on her.  Captain Gordon’s team have landed safely and the robot seems to have picked up Flonne’s pendant.  Meanwhile those big demons are back and they attack Laharl again, but this time Laharl is stronger and defeats them.  He asks one of the demons to explain what happened two years ago and then kills it, even though he said he wouldn’t.  This really upsets Flonne and she decides to kill Laharl.  She summons a dragon and the fight begins.  But… someone’s watching them.

I never played Disgaea and I heard a lot of bad comments about the anime from people who did play the game, but I like the anime.  I think the animation is rather cute and the story was quite funny so far.  I am definately going to continue watching this show!

Karin 22

Karin is still running around, not knowing where to go.  Winner-kun is watching his grandfather fighting with Elda.  In the meantime, Usui-kun is trying to go to Karin’s house, but he can’t reach it, appearently Karin’s parents have put a barrier around it.  When Usui-kun gets home, his mother notices something’s wrong, but Usui refuses to talk about it.  At Karin’s house, her parents are discussing the situation, when Elda returns.  She hands Karin’s cellphone over to the girl’s parents and tells them they can read everything what happened on it, which makes Carera angry -_-" They decide they must find Karin as fast as they can, but the sun has already risen.  Ren comes in and tells them he’ll go.  Meanwhile, Anju is still in her room, constantly calling for Karin.  Usui-kun is also leaving to look for Karin.  Meanwhile Winner-kun’s grandfather has thought out a new plan to destroy the Maaka-clan.  When Winner-kun wants to follow him, he pushes him away and tells him he’s no longer his grandson. Usui-kun is calling Maki to ask her if she knows anything about Karin, but before he can ask anything he is startled by Ren, who is having a great trouble being out during the day.  Then Karin arrives at Maki’s place, completely down.  Maki is trying to cheer her up, but because Karin doesn’t react to her questions, Maki decides to take her to an amusement park.  Ren has taken Usui-kun to an underground parking space and tells him they found a cure to make Karin into a full vampire.  He beggs him to give back his sister.  Meanwhile, Maki convinces Karin that she shouldn’t be with her right now, but with the person she cares for the most.  Thus Karin runs off and finds Usui-kun in the park.  She jumps into his arms and they are both very happy, but then Usui-kun tells Karin what happened and that he has decided to let her go.  He thinks back to when his father left him and his mother, and tells Karin he can’t tear families apart.  Then he runs away, leaving Karin in tears.

With only two episodes left, I’m starting to wonder how Karin and Usui-kun will ever get together again.  I’m really hoping for a happy ending here.  I also hope Winner-kun will turn against his grandfather now he doesn’t consider him like his grandson anymore.  I don’t believe Karin will want to be turned into a full vampire, not even with what happened, but I really don’t see where this is going now.

Angel Heart 12

Ryo and Xiang Ying are invited for the funeral of Master Li’s younger brother.  Xiang Ying wonders if it’s really ok for her to have come.  She doesn’t understand the concept of a funeral to well, but Ryo tells her that the deceased will be happy that she’s there.  He then goes and talk to Master Li, who tells him about his brother and how it’s thanks to him that he met Xiang Ying’s mother and got a child.  Ryo then tells a story that Master Li’s brother once told him: how he also considered Xiang Ying to be his child, and how the girl told him that she had 2 daddys ^_^  Then everyone goes outside to spread out the ashes into the sea.  Ryo asks Xiang Ying to participate and she’s hesitant at first but does it anyway.  Master Li gets tears in his eyes and says that he’s sure his brother is very happy now.  After the funeral, Xiang Ying tells Ryo that she also wants her ashes to be spread out at sea when she dies, but Ryo tells her that she shouldn’t worry about that now, but about what she’s going to do with her life.  Then Ryo tells Xiang Ying they’re going home.  Xiang Ying seems to know the way to ‘home’ herself (Kaori’s heart leads her) and after she’s settled in Kaori’s old room, she goes outside, where Ryo welcomes her home.

I really liked this episode.  It was very calm but I thought it was nice to see how Xiang Ying was as a child before she got into the organisation.  The ending was very good as well.  In the later episodes there hadn’t been many references to Kaori any more so I think it’s nice they showed some more again.

We see Winner’s grandfather walk around in a vampire-village, which he sets on fire.  Then we go back to Usui-kun, who still is waiting for Karin.  Karin herself is walking through the town, with her mind so occupied that she pushes over a little child.  When she sees two lovers walking, she remembers her date with Usui-kun and hurries over to their meeting spot.  At the same time Usui-kun goes to a telephone boot to call Karin, so she doesn’t see him.  Because she dropped her cell phone he can’t reach her and she leaves again before her goes out of the telephone boot.  Karin keeps wandering around and gets harrassed by two guys.  Meanwhile, Winner-kun and his grandfather are tracing Elda, but when they notice there are two vampires they split up.  Winner-kun finds Karin and helps her.  His grandfather finds Elda and they start fighting.  They end up at the place where Karin and Winner-kun are sitting and Winner-kun’s grandfather explains to him that Karin is the one who bit him when he was little.  Winner-kun is stupefied to hear that Karin is a vampire and he tries to shoot her like his grandfather tells him to do. But in the end he can’t do it because he really loves Karin, whether she’s a vampire or not ^_^ He gives Karin and Elda an opportunity to run.  Elda tells Karin to run while she starts to fight with Winner’s grandfather again.  In the meantime, Usui-kun is heading towards Karin’s house, where Ren arrives, completely out of breath.

It was an open ending this time so I’m very curious what will happen next.  This episode was pretty important because Winner-kun finally learns the truth.  I’m happy he stays at Karin’s side though.  I guess next episode will be more about Usui-kun again, and will Karin and Anju become friends again?  I don’t think Karin is going to change into a real vampire, but we’ll see…

Anju is having a dream about biting Karin.  When she wakes up, at first it seems Boogie-kun won’t wake up, but he does after she shakes him.  A bat coming from Elda brings a message which makes Anju angry.  Meanwhile, Usui-kun asks Karin to go somewhere with him the next evening.  Maki is watching them and in the evening she calls Karin and asks her to meet at the park the next day.  Karin and Anju have a bath afterwards and they talk about how they used to do things together when they were little. Karin promises Anju to bring her a souvenir the next day.
In the mean time Winner-kun is having a talk with his grandfather.  He tells Winner that the enemy of their family has arrived in Japan and that they’re going to destroy him.

After Karin has left, Anju changes and also goes out.  Boogie-kun tells her not to, but she doesn’t listen, she says she wants Karin to be happy.  She goes and meet Maki before Karin gets at the park and sucks her blood.  When Karin arrives she is shocked and asks Anju why she did that, even though she knew Maki is Karin’s friend.  Anju says that to her, it makes no difference and that Maki was just a meal.  Karin gets angry and throws the present at Anju.  Karin is so shocked she completely forgot about Usui-kun, who is still waiting for her.  When Anju comes home, Boogie-kun doesn’t react anymore: she’s grown up now.  Then Anju starts crying and calling for Karin.  Karin is still at the park, when she gets a message on her cell phone.  It’s Elda who tells her she found a way to turn her into a true vampire.

SHUFFLE! Live Only For You

This dvd, which takes about 3 hours, features a special SHUFFLE! live show with the Seiyuu of the anime series.  The show starts with YURIA singing the opening theme YOU (She was wearing quite a pretty dress by the way :p gosu!) Then the Seiyuu come on and introduce themselves.  Goto Yuuko (Kaede) couldn’t be on the show though :( She appologized through a video.  Then the seiyuu got a few questions (like who their favorite character of the show was).  Just before the brake they did a live voice acting performance, only they changed a few lines, to make their texts quite ridiculous ^_^ Sugita Tomokazu (Rin) was making jokes all the time during the show, and he seemed so serious while doing it ^_^; Then there was some kind of tombola and some people in the audience got an item with an autograph of 1 of the seiyuu.

After the brake the Seiyuu for Sia, Nerine, Primula and Asa sang 2 of their character songs, Hashimoto Miyuki sang that song Nerine sings in the series and the ending theme and YURIA sang the opening songs for the PS2 and PC game.  Afterwards she and Hashimoto Miyuki sang YOU together, while the seiyuu were throwing presents at the audience.

After the show, the dvd shows the opening and ending theme of the TV show without credits and some promotional video’s for the dvd’s.

I thought it was rather funny to see these seiyuu in real life, especially because most of them were rather ugly >_< no I don’t judge people by their looks (they’re great seiyuu, really) but they should do something about their teeth (really, ugly teeth!) I liked the show though and I’m glad I watched it.

Appleseed

The story begins with Deunan Knute, a soldier who keeps fighting even though the third world war already ended.  She gets taken to the new Utopia, Olympus.  Here, the bioroids live together in peace with the few humans left on earth.  Deunan also finds her ex-boyfriend Briareos living in this city, but he has become a cyborg.  Deunan makes friends with a girl named Hitomi, who later declares that she is a bioroid.  However, not all is as good as it seems.  The ordinary army of humans wants to destroy all bioroids.   The super unit Gaia that has been developed to help the seven old members of the council to make good decisions, can’t seem to make a decision.  It is up to Deunan to rediscover her past and so help Olympus to become the real new utopia.

I really liked this movie.  The story was good and the art was magnificent.  This wasn’t the first 3d movie I’ve seen but it was definately the best.  The backgrounds looked so realistic that at some moments I started wondering if they were real or computer animated.  The characters are made less realistic, but I didn’t find that disturbing, they were still very nicely done and at least it gave me the feeling I was watching an anime.

New Blog

Hi everyone

I will start blogging the anime I watch as soon as possible. I know there are already hundreds of anime-blogs out there, but I will still give it my best to blog as good as possible, and hopefully some people will enjoy my writing emoticon

I don’t watch the newest anime, and since most of the blogs do comment on the new ones, I hope it will be enjoyable to read a little about some older anime as well (no offence to all the other animeblogs that do list the new anime - I also read them emoticon) Anyway, I usually wait until I have all episodes of a series before I start watching them - although I make exceptions for some series that I want to see really bad.  So I will most of the time blog more then 1 episode at the time. I will try to make good screenshots, but I’m not very good at it emoticon so they may fail sometimes.  But I’ll really do my best to make a good blog! I hope you will enjoy reading it, yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
