Angel Heart 19

Xiang Ying is angry with Ryo because he gets up when it’s already noon, and she wants to go and check the message board.  Ryo isn’t in a hurry though, he wants to eat a nice breakfast first, but Xiang Ying has already eaten and she goes to check the message board alone.  Ryo then goes to the Cat’s Eye to eat, and there Umibouzu tells him that Xing Hong also refuses to eat with him.  Then Ryo notices that there’s a new Chinese restaurant nearby.  It appears that old Chen is the master of the restaurant.  Chen himself then comes to great Ryo, just when Xiang Ying returns from the station.  Ryo suggests that Xiang Ying helps the old man in his restaurant, and Umibouzu sends Xing Hong along too.  Xing Hong is already used to serving people, ut Xiang Ying isn’t and she makes a lot of mistakes.  She asks Chen if she really is much of a help if he always has to apologize for her mistakes, but of course he tells her she is a great help ^_^  Xiang Ying then asks him why all the people in the restaurant seem to be having so much fun eating.  Chen tells her it’s because they are eating together with the people they love.  Xiang Ying doesn’t understand this, but she decides to keep working.  Then, the local yakuza boss comes in with two underlings, because Chen didn’t pay him to open a restaurant in the city.  Of course he doesn’t know the business is run by Chen, but Mochiyama, who is with him, soon recognizes Xiang Ying and Xing Hong and gets scared and tries to get his boss to leave.  When the boss finds a band aid on his omelet, he gets angry and starts to make an uproar.  His underling attacks Xiang Ying, but of course she defeats him and his boss soon enough.  When she is threatening the yakuza boss, the underling wants to attack her again, but Xing Hong knocks him down again.  Chen then comes to see what all the commotion is about and when the yakuza boss recogizes him he apologizes and even leaves Mochiyama there to help Chen.  When Ryo arrives that evening, chen serves a meal for him, Xing Hong and Xiang Ying to thank them for their help.  Xiang ying enjoys eating together, but she and Xing Hong finish their meals quickly and Ryo tells her to eat more slowly.  Later, Ryo is talking to chen and he tells her that not only master Li, but also his brother, before his death, asked him to look after Xiang Ying.  Qian De even wrote in his will that he leaves everything to Xiang Ying.  Umibouzu says that Ryo would use up all of that money in one week, but that seems rather impossible since the total amount  equals one year’s worth of the National budget ^_^ The next morning, Xiang Ying wakes Ryo up so they can eat breakfast together.  She starts to eat fast again, but then remebers to eat more slowly, to enjoy the food together with Ryo.

I liked this episode, it once again shows how much Xiang ying has to learn about normal life.  It was nice to see old Chen again, it seems he’s going to watch over Xiang Ying from now on.  Next episode seems to be another City hunter job.

Mahoraba ~Heartful Days~

This series is one of my favorite series, so I really enjoyed watching it a second time and i’ve still been laughing just as much.  This series is so calm and it manages to be funny without any fanservice.  It’s even funnier than all those fanservice-series ^_^  I still don’t know which of Kozue’s personalities I like best, I like all of them.  Maybe I like Chiyuri-chan the least, because she’s just irritating with her men-fobia, but in the end she wasn’t all that bad.  The same goes for Tamami-chan.  If she really loves Kozue, why won’t she let her be with Shiratori, if she knows that makes her happy?  But in the end she realised this ^_^ well, she is a genius so what else can we expect?

I usually don’t like the loud characters, like Saki-chan, but for some reason I immediately did like Saki-chan.  She may be loud and rough but she’s definately not a bad person.  Nanako-chan is just too cute ^_^ but poor Shiratori had to go through some embarassing moments with her (tsk tsk, children these days :p)  I told you my opinion on Chiyuri already, so I’m not going to repeat myself.  And Natsume, well, she’s definately the cutest of all Kozue’s alters ^_^ and she only gets along with Shiratori, good job Shiratori ^_^ I understand why she would run away from all those noisy people.  Kozue is of course the  main female character and she is just… how should I say this?  She’s perfect: she’s sweet, will always help everyone, can cook, takes care of Narutakisou by her self, even though she’s a high school girl.  Like Tamami-chan says: Kozue is just lovely ^_^ I really like her character too.

Sayoko is so funny, I really laughed a lot, but it was nice to see how in the end she CAN make her own decisions, and how she does know what she wants.  I totally agree with her vision on love by the way: that is the way love should be, you love ONE person, and never again someone else.  Asami is cute, sometimes she can be too "genki" ^_^ but it makes a nice compensation for Sayoko’s gloomyness.  Momono, well, I don’t have much to say about her, sometimes she can be irritating, but she’s a good person.  And Haibara/ Johny… he doesn’t do all that much in the series, he helps keeping the things funny I guess.

From all the side-characters (and there’s a lot of them) I liked Buchou best ^_^ she’s so hilarious.  The way how she acts when someone insults her ^_^ and the fact she can’t stand garlic, she’s mysterious and still it is funny when watching her.  Shirogane-sensei was also an interesting character.  I still wonder what she does to the students in that room >_<

Overall, this series is really really good, I don’t rewatch bad series, so if you haven’t seen it yet, you should do so ^_^ if you don’t, you’re missing out on a great series.

Makai Senki Disgaea 11

Vulcanos makes our heroes strand on the snowfield that crosses the moon.  There, they see many Prinnies, but when Laharl calls for the Prinnies to make him some food, they come to greet him and then leave again.  This annoys Laharl greatly, but then the red prinny appears and tells him to leave the Prinnies be.  Now Laharl gets even more angry and he leaves.  Flonne keeps talking to the red prinny, she noticed this prinny is different then the others.  The prinny denies this, but he does tell Flonne that he’s happy that Laharl has such good people around him, and that his hart has started to open for love.  Flonne is very happy to hear that someone else also thinks that way ^_^  Meanwhile, Laharl has chased away Etna because she made a joke about the prinnies running away from Laharl because he isn’t nice to them.  When Flonne goes to him end tells him he should consider other people’s feelings, he gets even more angry.  Flonne then goes and talk to Etna, who tells her why Laharl is like that.  Laharl’s mother, the Queen was a human and she was always telling him about love.  Once, Laharl became ill though, and the only way to heal him was to sacrifice the life of the one who loved him most: his mother.  After his mother’s death, Laharl started to hate everything concerning love.  Suddenly the moon becomes dark and three creatures appear from it.  They activate some kind of beam that sucks out the prinnies’ souls and leads them to the red moon.  Laharl notices the beam, and also Etna and Flonne are watching it.  Then Mid-boss appears with Laharl, and the red Prinny with Etna and Flonne, and they explain what’s happening: these prinnies have already repented for their sins, so their soul gets to go to the red moon, where they can find rest.  When Laharl hears this, he gets angry again and flies up to the beam to stop the prinnies.  Mid-boss tries to convince him not to, but Laharl send him flying and goes to the beam.  There, the three guardians of the prinnies’ souls stop him.  Mid-boss comes back and tells him once more that the prinnies have already repented for their sins.  Laharl keeps fighting the guardians, but then the red prinny also asks him to stop.  He tells Laharl that he should be compassionate to his underlings.  The talk of the red prinny reminds Laharl of his mother, so he stops.  When the red prinny is about to leave into the beam, Flonne asks him what his sin was.  The prinny tells them that he threw away his life, to save his child.  Everyone now realises who the prinny is.  Flonne says it’s cruel of her to leave once more without saying goodbye to her son, but the queen says that that’ s a cruel thing to say.  She wants to hold her child, but they already had to say goodbye once, so making it fast is also a way of showing love.  Then her soul leaves into the light, and Laharl keeps looking at it until it reaches the moon.  Flonne than realises Laharl must really love his mother and she thanks the queen for showing her an other vision on love.  The next day, Mid-boss appears again and is talking to Laharl about how he now is truely a great king.  Flonne notices how Laharl and Mid-boss look alike, but Etna doesn’t see it.  Then Laharl opens the way to heaven.

One more episode ^_^ I’ve been wondering if Mid-boss is perhaps Laharl’s brother?  They don’t give an answer to that in the last episode either, so I don’t really know.  Next time they arrive in heaven.  It may take a while before I make a summary of episode 12, because I don’t have it here, I’ll try to do it as soon as possible though.

AIR

I had already seen AIR, but my boyfriend hadn’t, so I watched it a second time together with him.  It’s a good thing I did though, because the second half of the story gets rather difficult and i didn’t completely understand the story the first time.  Now, for all people who are like me and who don’t really understand what happens, I will explain it here ^_^ If you haven’t seen AIR yet, shame on you! Go watch it NOW! Then read the rest of this article :p

Now, my explanation starts at the ending of episode 7: Yukito returns to Misuzu, he managed to put his feelings into his puppeteering, but Misuzu doesn’t respond.  Then the doll starts to glow and he sees a scene from the past, his mother tells him that he has to decide what he wants to do.  This happens because the power of his mother and Yukito ancestors are captured inside the doll.  Yukito then decides he wants to be with Misuzu, he wants to relive everything from the moment they met (now this is very important!)  We get more explanations through Kanna’s story, in episode 9.  The only thing Kanna wanted was to meet her mother.  Her mother dies before they can really be together though.  Furthermore, she is cursed, and Kanna, by touching her mother, is now also cursed.  Later, Uraha explains more: Kanna’s soul is not able to get to rest, first of all because of her mother’s curse, and also because the monks put another curse on her.  Now her soul will try to find another host on earth, but a human isn’t big enough to contain Kanna’s soul.  This is why, one: Misuzu is ill, two: not only Misuzu carries a part of Kanna’s soul, but other people as well (the children we see in the end).  Now Kanna wanted to meet her mother, Misuzu also wants to be with her mother, but she kept sticking to Yukito in stead.  Therefore, Yukito had to go in order to make Misuzu get along with her mother, BUT he wanted to relive everything, so he returns as the crow Sora.  The real Yukito is also still walking around, because that happened and cannot be undone.  Now, when Misuzu feels so lonely, suddenly Sora remembers who he was and Yukito appears very shortly to tell Misuzu not to give up.  Misuzu then decides she wants to be with her mother (Haruko) but unfortunately she later gets into the stage of forgetting everything.  Now, the final goad Misuzu reaches in the end is her mother.  She dies BUT everything is now solved, Kanna’s soul can rest, she got to be with her mother.  The crow Sora also flies up to the sky and the two children, they are like Yukito and Misuzu were, but because Kanna’s soul has come to rest, they will be able to live normal lives.

I hope my explanation was somehow clear.  If you didn’t understand whole of the series, even after reading my explanation it might be good to rewatch it.

Makai Senki Disgaea 10

When the humans fire their canon, Laharl activates his bracelet and repels the attack, destroying the canon.  Meanwhile, Jennifer tells Flonne about what happened in the past: the Defenders of Earth were created, because earth became over-populated, causing criminality to grow.  The original idea was to populate the universe, but suddenly the general had decided to take over the Netherworld instead: everything would be ok once the demons were all dead.  Then Thursday comes in, the General wants to see Jennifer.  Jennifer decides to go and talk to her father.  While the door is still open, Etna and Flonne manage to escape.  Flonne wants to find out what Heaven has got to do with all of this, and she soon finds a clue when she sees the canon.  But when they reach it, there are soldiers who capture them again.  In the meantime, Jennifer is with her father, trying to convince him that what he’s doing is wrong.  The General makes it seem as if he’ll listen to her at first, but then he knocks her unconscious.  Flonne and Etna are still in trouble, surrounded by soldiers, but Etna calls the Prinnies, who take the soldiers away.  Then Etna orders them to destroy the spaceship.  When Flonne goes to check out the canon, it gets activated again.  The next moment, we see Jennifer waking up: she is tied to an operation table and her father is about to do something to her to make her cooperate with him again.  It was Curtis who was firing the canon again, but when he wants to shoot, the Prinnies arrive and start to destroy everyting.  Then Laharl and Gordon arrive at the ship, but when Gordon asks where Jennifer is, Curtis only tells him that the General is transforming her.  Flonne imagines some kind of giant robot when she hears "transforming" and is very eager to see the transformation ^_^; Then Curtis shows that his arms are made of metal and he tells his story: Laharl and Etna aren’t interested in hearing it, so they leave to find Jennifer ^_^; Five years ago, Curtis’ wife and daughter died in a terrorrist bombing.  He survived, but had to have 70% of his body replaced by artificial parts.  Curtis is angry with Gordon because saving humans should be the purpose of being a defender of Earth.  Gordon says that by invading the Netherworld, the will probably save the humans, but it is still wrong if it costs the life of so many demons.  Curtis only thinks about his family that’s lost and doesn’t want to listen to any arguments.  He wants to destroy the defenders of Earth and become one himself to save humans.  when he wants to shoot Gordon, Flonne interferes.  She tells Curtis that demons also have families they love, and Gordon says thathis family in heaven won’t be happy seeing him killing others.  Then the ship explodes, and Curtis is trapped in flames.  When Gordon and Flonne want to help him, he tells them where they can find Jennifer, and asks them to leave him.  When Flonne and Gordon arrive, Laharl and Etna are already there, and the General shows them Jennifer.  She still looks the same, she’s just wearing a device that controls her mind.  He tells her to destroy the others and Jennifer starts attacking Gordon.  Just when Gordon is about to lose, Kurtis appears.  The General feels trapped, so he wants to let the device explode, but Kurtis manages to free Jennifer of it and jumps out of the window taking the device with him.  Gordon is shocked to see him sacrifice himself like that, and no one notices that the General is trying to escape.  They manage to stop him outside, but then the angel soldiers from heaven appear, and they help him!  Flonne repels their attack, but ends up killing some of them.  After killing the angel soldiers, Laharl demands an explanation from the General. He tells them that indeed heaven helped them invade the netherworld.  When they aren’t looking, the General managed to escape though, but Mid-boss is on his ship as well, telling him that it’s impossible for him to save earth, if he would even sacrifice his own daughter.  When everything’s over, Gordon makes a treaty with Laharl not to bother each other anymore, then he and his team return home, but they leave the big battleship behind.  Laharl is happy with the treaty, now he also has control over the humanworld ^_^;  Flonne then also says goodbye, she has to go to heaven to see what’s wrong.Laharl decides to go with her: he wants to conquer heaven too.  So they leave with the battleship, but the ship stops on some weird planet with a red moon.  Meanwhile, the dark angel, Vulcanus has seen everything and is getting worried.  The Seraph, Lamington-sama, tells him he’s done a good job.

Two more episodes to go.  I’ll get them up as soon as possible ^_^

Makai Senki Disgaea 9

Captain Gordon and his team have finally managed to fix their spaceship and they are heading home.  In the meantime, Laharl, Etna and Flonne are having a hard time reaching Laharl’s castle.  When Captain Gordon flies by, he challenges Laharl to a duel.  Laharl accepts his challenge, but he wants to keep it somewhere else.  Captain Gordon invites them into his ship and together they fly to Laharl’s castle.  Inside the spaceship, Flonne notices the Devil’s writing, and Laharl is happy to have it back, now he can become the king.  When they arrive at the castle, Laharl wants to go and prepare first, so he, Etna and Flonne go inside, while captain Gordon, Jennifer and Thursday wait outside.  The castle is a real mess, but Laharl doesn’t bother with calling prinnies over to clean it, when he activates the devil’s writing, everything gets cleaned up (there was a porn magazine inside the devil’s writing, but it was the outside that was important, not the inside ^_^;)  The next moment, Thursday deactivates and then his eyes become red and he starts sending out signals.  Then the big battleship from earth, Gargantua, arrives in the netherworld.  Gordon is very thrilled that they’ve come to help him, but soon it becomes clear that they haven’t come for him at all.  The battleship starts shooting, and  almost hits Gordon as well.  Then Gordon’s rival, Curtis appears and starts attacking him.  Meanwhile, Laharl noticed the attacks and started a counter-attack on the human battleships.  The weird angel tells the general of the battleships to use the weapon heaven gave them, but the general seems hesitant.  Outside, Curtis defeats Gordon and then takes Flonne and Etna hostage.  Etna tries to free herself but only ends up hurting herself more.  Curtis tells Gordon he was just being used and then he takes Jennifer and Thursday to the ship.  Jennifer doesn’t want to help Curtis and the general anymore, but the general is her adoptive father, so there isn’t much she can do.  The whole plan was for earth to take over the netherworld.  For that purpose, she built Thursday, who put up bakens everywhere they’ve been so the battleships could enter the netherworld in an easier way.  When Laharl wants to attack Gargantua, Curtis arrives and shows him the hostages.  Laharl doesn’t care and wants to attack anyway, but then the big canon from heaven gets activated, giving off the same power as Flonne’s pendant.  Flonne is very shocked when she sees this.  Laharl gets hit, but still manages to get up.  Then Curtis explains everything: The whole plan was for earth to take over the netherworld.  For that purpose, Jennifer built Thursday, who sent data about the netherworld to the humans and put up systems everywhere they’ve been so the battleships could enter the netherworld in an easier way.  At the same time, Jennifer arrives at her father’s place, but she doesn’t seem too happy.  Curtis has the canon shoot a second time, and Laharl gets blown away, and lands close to Gordon.  Then, Etna and Flonne get locked up inside the spaceship, but Jennifer comes to them.  Then, the General gives out the order to burn down the netherworld.  Meanwhile, Gordon asks Laharl to help him, because he doesn’t want to see Jennifer cry.  Laharl doesn’t care, but he is really furious with the humans, so he’s going to attack them anyway.  That moment, the humans fire their big canon, and everything, including Laharl and Gordon gets enclosed in light.

An open ending for this episode.  I’ll try to blog the rest this week.
