Makai Senki Disgaea 9

Captain Gordon and his team have finally managed to fix their spaceship and they are heading home.  In the meantime, Laharl, Etna and Flonne are having a hard time reaching Laharl’s castle.  When Captain Gordon flies by, he challenges Laharl to a duel.  Laharl accepts his challenge, but he wants to keep it somewhere else.  Captain Gordon invites them into his ship and together they fly to Laharl’s castle.  Inside the spaceship, Flonne notices the Devil’s writing, and Laharl is happy to have it back, now he can become the king.  When they arrive at the castle, Laharl wants to go and prepare first, so he, Etna and Flonne go inside, while captain Gordon, Jennifer and Thursday wait outside.  The castle is a real mess, but Laharl doesn’t bother with calling prinnies over to clean it, when he activates the devil’s writing, everything gets cleaned up (there was a porn magazine inside the devil’s writing, but it was the outside that was important, not the inside ^_^;)  The next moment, Thursday deactivates and then his eyes become red and he starts sending out signals.  Then the big battleship from earth, Gargantua, arrives in the netherworld.  Gordon is very thrilled that they’ve come to help him, but soon it becomes clear that they haven’t come for him at all.  The battleship starts shooting, and  almost hits Gordon as well.  Then Gordon’s rival, Curtis appears and starts attacking him.  Meanwhile, Laharl noticed the attacks and started a counter-attack on the human battleships.  The weird angel tells the general of the battleships to use the weapon heaven gave them, but the general seems hesitant.  Outside, Curtis defeats Gordon and then takes Flonne and Etna hostage.  Etna tries to free herself but only ends up hurting herself more.  Curtis tells Gordon he was just being used and then he takes Jennifer and Thursday to the ship.  Jennifer doesn’t want to help Curtis and the general anymore, but the general is her adoptive father, so there isn’t much she can do.  The whole plan was for earth to take over the netherworld.  For that purpose, she built Thursday, who put up bakens everywhere they’ve been so the battleships could enter the netherworld in an easier way.  When Laharl wants to attack Gargantua, Curtis arrives and shows him the hostages.  Laharl doesn’t care and wants to attack anyway, but then the big canon from heaven gets activated, giving off the same power as Flonne’s pendant.  Flonne is very shocked when she sees this.  Laharl gets hit, but still manages to get up.  Then Curtis explains everything: The whole plan was for earth to take over the netherworld.  For that purpose, Jennifer built Thursday, who sent data about the netherworld to the humans and put up systems everywhere they’ve been so the battleships could enter the netherworld in an easier way.  At the same time, Jennifer arrives at her father’s place, but she doesn’t seem too happy.  Curtis has the canon shoot a second time, and Laharl gets blown away, and lands close to Gordon.  Then, Etna and Flonne get locked up inside the spaceship, but Jennifer comes to them.  Then, the General gives out the order to burn down the netherworld.  Meanwhile, Gordon asks Laharl to help him, because he doesn’t want to see Jennifer cry.  Laharl doesn’t care, but he is really furious with the humans, so he’s going to attack them anyway.  That moment, the humans fire their big canon, and everything, including Laharl and Gordon gets enclosed in light.

An open ending for this episode.  I’ll try to blog the rest this week.

Kasimasi ~Girl meets girl~ 12

Early in the morning, Hazumu is going up the mountain, thinking about how much she loves both Tomari and Yasuna.  Later that day Tomari goes out to see Hazumu, but Hazumu has also just left to see Tomari, and they miss each other.  They meet later at the school roof and both girls have someting to say.  Hazumu tells Tomari that she’s made up her mind: she wants to be with Yasuna.  Tomari is obviously a bit down when hearing this news, but she hides it by spraying Hazumu with water.  Hazumu also takes a hoze and both girls keep playing with the water until they are soaked.  While they are drying in the sun, they remember how they used to play and get into trouble when they were younger.  Tomari then tells Hazumu she wanted to play together for this last day, and so the girls leave.  In the meantime, Yasuna is packing her stuff.  Tomari and Hazumu are having fun the whole day:they go biking, eat a large icecream, go to a cd shop, try to get plushies out of a vending machine, go karaoke and they end their day out at the shrine, where they make a wish.  Hazumu asks Tomari what she wished for, but Tomari wants to hear Hazumu’s wish first.  Hazumu tells her that she wished for Yasuna to get better, and Tomari replies to have wished for the same thing.  Tomari wants to go home then, but Hazumu still has a last request: she wants to ride the same bike with Tomari, like they did when they were children.  Tomari talking about going to the sea like this makes both girls sad and when Hazumu starts hugging Tomari they fall.  Hazumu starts to cry and Tomari tells her she doesn’t want to see her like that.  Tomari tells Hazumu that she will always love her and be proud of her, that she will be proud of Hazumu’s children and grandchildren, causing Hazumu to cry even more.  Then Tomari tells Hazumu to go to Yasuna, but when Hazumu starts walking away, she calls out her name, telling Hazumu not to throw her away.  Hazumu runs back to Tomari and hugs her.

And you’ll have to see the rest for yourselves!  I really don’t like to spoil so I won’t.  If you don’t want to be spoiled, don’t watch the rest of the screenshots either, because I did take screenshots of the whole episode!  All I can say is that I think this series had a fitting ending.  I liked Kasimasi a lot so now I’m very eager to see the 13th dvd episode.  My guess is it will be something like the Onegai Twins OVA, a small side story on how life goes on after everything got solved.

Blog hacked?

I’m not sure how it happened, but my post of Disgaea 6 was no longer published.  To have all Disgaea posts in the right order, I had to repost 6, 7 and 8 emoticon Luckily enough, they were still on the blog, so I didn’t have to make the whole post again (I always keep backups on my harddisk as well so it’s not that big of a problem).  I still wonder what exactly happened though.  I know the site would load very slowly last night so perhaps Blogsome were updating the site or something like that (maybe I better check the forums the next time the site doesn’t work properly).  Anyway, I wanted to explain why these three posts have been posted again today (it was the easiest way I knew to get them back in order.)

I’ll try to post the rest of Disgaea next week.

Etna and Flonne are doing all the housework because the prinnies have disappeared.  Laharl is annoyed because he didn’t have a proper meal over the last few days, so when Etna and Flonne are going out to get rid of the trash he goes along to look for the prinnies.  In town, they see the garbage just lying everywhere in the street: it seems that there are nowhere any prinnies to be found.  But then Laharl spots one sneaking away, and he catches it and tells it to take them to the other prinnies.  While they are on their way, the prinny tries to escape but Laharl stops him.  Then Laharl, Etna and Flonne see a lot of prinnies gathering around an ocean.  They are going to an island that floats over it.  Laharl gets angry and wants to blow up the prinnies, but Etna tells him they should find out their goal first.    That’s why they buy some prinny-costumes, but they didn’t have enough money for three, so Laharl only gets a prinny-head.  Then they infiltrate in the boats and go to the island with the prinnies.  There, they see that the prinnies are revolting against the netherworld and Laharl gets angry again, blowing their cover by doing so.  Etna and Flonne manage to take Laharl to some hut standing on the island, but the prinnies found out they are spies and put the hut on fire.  Luckily there is a red prinny, who was a servant of Etna, who comes to save them.  The prinny gives them food, because Laharl was so hungry he could no longer use his powers.  Then he tells them that the prinnies want to make their own prinny-country and leave the netherworld.  Someone is thriving them to do that, but the red prinny doesn’t know who it is.  Laharl, Etna and Flonne are hiding on a roof to spy on the prinnies.  Or at least, Etna and Flonne are, Laharl doesn’t bother hiding at all.  The prinnies are having a lot of shows for the mass, and Flonne thinks it’s wonderful, but Laharl gets annoyed and jumps on the podium.  The prinnies ignore them and sing their national anthem, but when Laharl burns their flag they start throwing things at him.  The prinnies’ Elder stops them and he tells Laharl that he can’t stop them.  The prinnies start singing for their guardian, a prinny statue, and then the statue starts moving.  Captain Gordon and his team stop by to fight it, but they only destroy the rock around it.  Inside the statue was Pringer X, a giant prinny robot, who easily gets rid of Captain Gordon.  Flonne likes Pringer X ^_^ and wants to have it.  Then the new prinny king appears on top of Pringer X, and he tries to defeat Laharl but of course Laharl is stronger.  Flonne tries to stop him from attacking and destroying Pringer X, but Laharl doesn’t listen to her.  He tells the prinnies to stop this nonsense and go back to the netherworld.  Then the island starts to fall because there are to many prinnies on it ^_^;  Our heroes escape and the prinnies fall into the water.  A few days later is everything back to normal, the prinnies are working even harder than before.

This was the last side-episode, and it was fun ^_^  As of next episode, the real story will start coming to an end.

Laharl, Etna and Flonne are going to rest at a restaurant.  Captain Gordon and his team are working there, to earn more money to fix their spaceship, and they tell Laharl they’ve seen his little sister, Maharl.  Laharl tells them that he doesn’t have a little sister, but then a prinny comes round, spreading the news that the king had a daughter.  At that moment, the person in question, Maharl, comes in and she hides under Laharl’s table.  Then the Netherworld’s Emperors, a group of hoodlums, who are after her, come in, but luckily Laharl manages to send them away.  He doesn’t believe this girl is really his sister, but he allows her to come with them to find out her motives.  He soon regrets this, because Maharl really takes advantage of the situation, and Etna constantly reminds him that he’s being taken advantage of.  That night, Maharl comes into Laharl’s room and wants to sleep with him, because she had a bad dream.  Laharl wants to test her and asks her if she remembers their father’s words, but Maharl knows them, and she even knows about the royal item, the Dark Lizard’s Tail.  The next day, Maharl has Etna and Flonne clean the bathroom and Etna is rather pissed of that Laharl is getting along so well with Maharl.  Then Maharl comes in and collapses.  she’s having a fever and she tells Laharl she wants to eat their father’s dark porridge.  Laharl remembers how, when he used to have a fever, his father used to make that dark porridge for him to heal him. He than makes some dark porridge for Maharl.  Flonne is very happy to see such brotherly love, but Etna wonders how long Laharl is going to keep doing this.  The next day, Laharl and Maharl go into town together, and they meet Mid-boss, who is very shocked to hear that Laharl has a little sister.  He asks for the name of the girl’s mother, but she doesn’t answer.  When Laharl and Maharl are leaving, Maharl’s doll turns his head and looks at Mid-boss, which makes him freak out and run away in fear.  Later, Etna and Laharl are alone and Etna wonders where Maharl and Flonne have gone.  Then Laharl receives a letter of challange fro the Netherworld’s Emperors, stating that they have kidnapped Maharl.  Laharl is going to get her back, because he still wants to find out her motives.  Meanwhile, Maharl had asked Flonne out and she is also being caught by the Netherworld’s Emperors.  Mid-boss wants to save her, but when he sees Maharl he runs away again.  Then Laharl and Etna appear, and finally Maharl shows her real face: she’s working along with the Netherworld Emperors to find the Dark Lizard’s Tail.  Laharl easily defeats the Netherworld’s emperors and also Maharl, who appears to be only the doll, and her doll was the real demon.  She gets taken away by Mid-boss and both of them fall off the mountain.

So now Laharl needs two items to prove he’s king, the demon’s book and the Dark Lizard’s Tail.  I think that next episode will continue the real story (I hope so) and that the side stories are over now.  Maharl was very cute though ^_^

Sardia told Laharl how to get to the house of the one who put a price on his head, but the road is long and dangerous.  Laharl, Etna and Flonne are crossing a bridge over a weird place, because when Laharl throws Flonne off the bridge, she comes falling again from the sky ^_^  At last our heroes reach the castle, of Maderas, an old servant of Laharl’s father, who was expelled from the royal palace because he ate one of the king’s dango.  Laharl demands the reward, but suddenly Etna goes and stand next to Maderas: they had been working together to destroy Laharl and make Maderas king.  Etna takes out a box and sucks in Laharl and Flonne, who is completely shocked by her treason.  The box is some kind of game, which makes Laharl and Etna do things: she becomes the leader of a gang of criminals and he becomes a primadonna ^_^  Then Etna asks Maderas for the reward and her memories, which he had stolen.  Maderas refuses to return them though and sends Etna away.  She is very angry, and when Maderas leaves, she goes back in to look for her memories.  Maderas noticed her though, and he tells her he’ll give them back to her, if she throws the box with Laharl and Etna in into the fire.  Desperate to get her memories back, Etna does this, but once again, Maderas refuses to return the memories.  Etna is really pissed off now, but she can’t really do anything.  Then Mid-boss makes his appearance, and he doesn’t do much, but he does throw three roses into the room.  These roses hit three prinny-statues, who come to life: that is where Etna’s embarassing memories are hidden.  Unfortunately, the prinnies can no longer keep the memories inside their head, so Etna has to stop them from telling, but before that, she releases Laharl and Flonne.  Laharl wants to attack Maderas, but he has a weapon Laharl can’t defeat: an army of demon girls who say inspiring words and talk about love.  Each time Laharl faints, Etna heals him again, she feals very good hearing those words ^_^  Laharl suddenly remembers something of his past, his father gave him a plate with two dango: one tastes good and the other tastes bad.  He told Laharl to look with his mind’s eye to decide.  Laharl gets up again, but he is still very weak, so he falls against Etna and Flonne.  Maderas tells Etna to kill Laharl, but she no longer listens to him and attacks him.  Because she let go of the prinnies, her embarassing memories have been releases though.  Later, Flonne and Laharl wake up outside, and Etna comes there too: she locked Maderas inside the game so he won’t cause them any more trouble. Laharl says he likes the fact she tried to kill him, it makes her a good devil and Flonne is very happy everything is back to normal.  Then Laharl rembers what happend with the dango when he was young: both dango had tasted bad, it had been a lesson given to him by his father.  Meanwhile, Mid-boss is sitting with the prinnies, watching Etna’s memories, crying because they are so beautiful ^_^;

This episode was rather good, although I wonder why Etna was thinking about taking over the throne when she did all that for Maderas.  She was probably hoping to destroy him after she got her memories back.  At first I was really shocked that Etna had betrayed Laharl, but in the end she only did it to get her memories back, so I guess she isn’t that bad after all ^_^

Kasimasi ~Girl meets girl~ 11

Hazumu and Tomari notice that Yasuna has seen them kiss.  Yasuna tells Tomari that she really trusted her, and then she wants to run away, but Tomari repeating the same things makes her run towards Tomari and Hazumu and hit Tomari in the face.  Tomari slaps her back and asks Yasuna why she and Hazumu were embracing eachother.  Hazumu wants to explain, but Tomari is so angry she doesn’t listen.  When Yasuna turns around to say something back at Tomari, she can’t see her anymore.  Tomari has become a grey spot, and even Hazumu dissapears before Yasuna’s eyes.  Completely in shock, Yasuna collapses.  Hazumu and Tomari take Yasuna back to the dormitory, and have the doctor come.  After the doctor leaves, Hazumu doesn’t want to leave Yasuna’s side.  The next day, Yasuna’s mother comes and picks up her daughter.  Tomari mentions how Yasuna seemed not to recognize them, and Hazumu realises what must have happened.  At the hospital, a doctor tells Yasuna’s mother that indeed her daughter can recognize noone anymore, not even her own mother.  When Yasuna gets home, Hazumu is waiting for her.  Inside, Yasuna tells Hazumu about how her condition has gotten worse, and she makes Hazumu realize that it’s her fault.  When Hazumu has left, Yasuna tries to recognize Hazumu’s face in pictures, but she can’t.  Then she quickly tries to drawn Hazumu, the way her face is printed in her memory, but even her memory of Hazumu’s face starts to fade.  When Hazumu arrives at home, Tomari is waiting for her.  She tells Hazumu that her feelings haven’t changed, and that she won’t give up on her.  She then asks Hazumu to tell her clearly who she loves most; but Hazumu runs into the house, saying that she can’t think about Tomari right now.  Tomari runs away, and goes to her spot by the river.  When she starts crying, Ayuki happens to walk past and she comforts Tomari.  The next day Hazumu is making plans with Asuta, because she doesn’t want to be alone.  Ayuki sees the two of them talking and gets angry.  When Asuta notices a pot where two plants are growing, Hazumu tells him they’ll have to pull one out, otherwise both plants will die.  She can’t decide which one to pull out though.  Suddenly Ayuki appears and pulls out one of the plants.  She starts to make Hazumu clear what she’s done to both Yasuna and Tomari by using the plants.  She says that Hazumu won’t make a decision, and when both plants have died, she will cry, not for the plants, but for her own indecisiveness. In the meantime, Tomari is brought to the infirmary because she has collapsed.  She had been running after she hadn’t slept the whole night.  At home, Jan-puu and Sora are getting ready to leave.  They never got the results they needed so there’s no more reason for them to stay on earth.  Hazumu asks Sora what results he’s talking about, and Sora tells him that the people on his planet suffer from the same condition as Yasuna, they have lost interest in eachother and are incapable of recognizing each other.  Sora had hoped to heal Yasuna through love, but his plan failed because Hazumu is afraid to fall in love.  Meanwhile, Yasuna meets up with Tomari at the mountain.  Yasuna tells Tomari about her condition, and says then that she will give up on Hazumu because she can’t see her anymore.  Tomari responds that even though Yasuna can’t see Hazumu, she knows that she still wants to be together with her.  She knows that Yasuna needs Hazumu more then herself, and she tells Yasuna she’s happy that it was she who was her rival.  Yasuna finally calls Tomari "Tomari-chan" and both girls shake hands.  At 4 AM, both Hazumu and Yasuna are still awake, thinking about something, and Yasuna seems to make a decision.

This episode was good, it doesn’t really tell you who Hazumu will choose yet, although you can guess.  I watched the last episode as well, I’ll put it on the blog as soon as I can, but I’ll try not to spoil ^_^

Angel Heart 18

This episode continues where the last one left off: Kaori is sitting at Ryo’s bed.  Ryo, who thinks she noticed he’s awake has the broken bottle ready to attack.  Then Kaori starts to speak, telling Ryo not to die.  If he thinks noone will grieve for him if he dies, she will.  Hearing this, Ryo lowers his weapon and feels he can sleep safely for the first time in his life.  Meanwhile, Xiang Ying sees Kaori’s brother, looking at a photo of him and Kaori when they were children.  He tells Kaori not to worry about him, and then he worries: did she find out they aren’t real siblings?  When Kaori enters the room the next day, Ryo is gone.  When he wants to leave Kaori’s brother stops him and tells him to leave the city.  Ryo in return tells him he knows there is a cop going around as City Hunter, and that there are people out to get him, so he’d better be careful.  Later, Hideyuki gets indeed attacked by some men.  Kaori is waiting at home, and somehow she feels something’s wrong.  Then Ryo arrives with Hideyuki, who is bruised all over his body.  Ryo tells Kaori that her brother fell off the stairs, but she doesn’t believe him.  Kaori takes care of her bother’s wounds and thanks Ryo, but he makes her angry because he start’s touching her ^_^; so she throws him out of the house.  Then Ryo tells her he was very happy to hear her say she would grieve for him.  When Hideyuki regains consciousness, he gets angry with Ryo, but Ryo tells him to be quiet, because Kaori’s asleep.  They go to the roof, where Ryo suggests Hideyuki to help him with his City Hunter job. Hideyuki gets angry first and points his gun at Ryo, but Ryo easily takes it from him.  Hideyuki questions Ryo’s motive for wanting to become City Hunter, and Ryo tells him it’s because he doesn’t want to see Kaori cry. Then Xiang Ying sees Ryo talking to Kaori at a  playground. Ryo has decided to stay in Shinjuku, and he asks about Kaori’s name.  In return, she asks what his name is, but he doesn’t have one, so he lets Kaori choose one from all his fake identities.  She picks out Saeba Ryo, because that name made the strongest impression on her.  Xiang Ying is happy to learn that Ryo didn’t used to have a name either, and she wants to congratulate him with his new name, but… she still can’t touch them.  She feels a little sad about it, but then Ryo and Kaori call out her name, and tell her to come with them ^_^  Then Xiang Ying wakes up.  Ryo tells her she was saying "mama" in her dream and she tells him she had a dream about "Kaori-mama" ^_^

This episode was really ment for people who don’t know the original city Hunter story (I haven’t seen much of it either so it was nice to see how Kaori and Ryo met, and how Ryo became City Hunter.)  It was just so cute when Xiang Ying said "Kaori-mama" ^_^  Next episode the real story continues, and Xiang Ying seems to go to work at old Chen’s restaurant.

Chrno Crusade

I finally managed to finish this series.  I started watching it some time ago, but never got to finish it.  Chrno Crusade isn’t a very new series, it aired in 2003, but I didn’t get to see it back then, even though it looked like a very good series, but what else can we expect from Gonzo ^_^

I’m not going to write a summary here, because there are sites enough that provide summaries of full series.  If you don’t know Chrno Crusade, and want to know more about it, go here.  If you are thinking of watching it and you don’t want to get spoiled, don’t continue reading!

I thought this series was very good, although the story was rather hard and not too easy either.  At the end everything gets explained rather nicely though.  I think it’s a bit sad that Rosette had to die, especially because Joshua finally got his memory back, but it was clear from the beginning that she was to die.  I do still wonder why Aion managed to survive though, it seemed like Chrno finally killed him, and then he returns several years later.  The whole fight that Rosette and Chrno had been holding has been for nothing if Aion continues to exist anyway.  I also felt sorry for Satella, to see how her sister had forgotten about her, but deep inside she did remember her ^_^ only her memory didn’t come back until the moment she dies.  Azmaria seemed like a weak girl at first, but in the end she grew very strong and I really liked her character a lot.  She wanted to become like Rosette and it was nice to see how, in the end, she managed to make that dream come true.

I don’t really know what more to tell about this series, but I really did like it and I recommend it to everyone who likes stories which contain action, but also some drama.

Angel Heart 17

Xiang Ying is having the same dream over and over: she’s a child, about five years old, and she’s walking in the city alone, looking for Ryo.  After having that dream again she talks about it to Ryo, and he tells her to tell Doc during her check up.  When Xiang Ying arrives at the hospital, Doc is sleeping.  When she comes in and he wakes up, he mistakenly takes her for Kaori, and tells Xiang Ying about the time that Kaori was a nurse there.  Ryo is late picking Xiang Ying up, and in the meantime she has fallen asleep.  She is still having the same dream, but now she’s found Ryo.  Only, he has a shotwound and is dying.  Panicking, Xiang Ying is triying to call people to help him, but she can’t touch them.  Then she succeeds in grabbing someone’s hand, and the woman goes and check on Ryo.  Xiang Ying sees it’s Kaori.  In her sleep, she calls out Kaori’s name, and both Ryo and Doc are very surprised.  The next scene Xiang Ying sees is Kaori making breakfast for her brother, Makimura Hideyuki, who is a detective.  They are having an arguement about Kaori studying to be a nurse, but then Kaori goes off to the hospital.  There she is taking care of Ryo, who is still unconscious.  Her brother is there too, and he doesn’t trust Ryo, because all his papers are fake, but Kaori tells him as long as Ryo’s wounded her brother can’t take him away.  Doc later tells Makimura that the reason Kaori became a nurse isn’t because of him, but for him.  Upon hearing that, he goes to Kaori and tells her that her cooking has become very good.  During the night Ryo gains consciousness and he breaks a bottle to have a weapon.  Xiang Ying then realizes that he’s just like her when she just arrived in Shinjuku.  Kaori comes to check on Ryo and first it seems she didn’t notice he’s awake, but then she turns around and tells him to open his eyes.  As she is bending over him, Ryo picks up the broken bottle…

And they leave us with a cliffhanger!  I hate it when they do that emoticon Anyway, I really liked this episode, seeing more about Kaori and Ryo’s meeting.  I guess Xiang Ying will also learn more about Kaori upon seeing this dream (actually Kaori’s memories), but I feel sorry for her she can only watch and not participate.
